The Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Hudson Valley Community College recently completed a 10-week workshop examining contemporary issues revolving around diversity, equity, and inclusion. This is the third year the workshop has occurred. Four of the 10weeks were completed online.
A total of 15 volunteers including administrators, faculty, and staff took part. The workshop was facilitated by Chief Diversity Officer Ainsley Thomas, Zoe O’Brey, and Taunya Hannibal-Williams, all from the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (ODEI).
The Embracing Diversity group seeks to promote awareness, respect, and foster opportunities to advance diversity, equity, inclusion, and engagement at the college. The group plans to work collaboratively with various departments, faculty, staff, and students and offer workshops on diversity in the near future.
